Armin Seiler was Full Professor of Business Management at ETH Zurich. He retired end of March 2006.



Prof. Seiler was born on October 30, 1939 and took his degree in mechanical engineering at the ETH Zurich in 1963. He then began a second course of study at the University of Zurich which he completed in 1969 with a doctorate in economics, with emphasis on business management. Simultaneously, from 1964 to 1969, he taught mathematics and physics at the Business School in Zurich. He worked for five years as management consultant for McKinsey, two years of which were in the USA. After returning to Switzerland in 1974, he decided to transfer to industry. For three years he directed the Stahl Service Center Dr. Ing. König AG in Dietikon and later was delegate of the board of directors at the Industrieholding Cham AG, where he was responsible for the Cham-Tenero paper factory, the Gutor Group in Wettingen specializing in industrial electronics, and Trasfor SA in Molinazzo di Montegi which manufactures transformers.



On April 1, 1983 he was appointed full Professor at the ETH Zurich. Students in technical disciplines can benefit from Prof. Seiler-s extensive experience in industry, his consulting and research projects.
