Vera Voney is a PhD student at the chair of Sustainable Construction since 2018. She works on alternative binder materials for powder based 3D printing of structural elements. In a collaboration with the chair for digital building technologies, a powder bed 3D printer was developed, that can handle materials with very different properties. Vera is responsible for the mix design strategy to 3D print geopolymers in this printer. In 2014 and 2016 Vera Voney finished her bachelor and master in material science at ETH Zurich. After an exchange semester at EPF in Lausanne, she conducted her master thesis at EMPA in Dübendorf in the field of solar cells. Curious from the course Grounded Materials at the chair of sustainable construction, Vera started to work as a scientific assistant at the Cahir in the End of 2016, before she started her PhD in 2018.
