Curriculum Vitae (CV) | Richard Senti was employed at the Institute of Economic Research until April 2000 and directed the research group on foreign trade and agricultural markets. On May 19, 1982 he was given the title of Professor. Prof. Senti was born on February 17, 1935 and is from Flums SG. He studied at the University of St. Gall where he earned his doctorate in economics under Professor E. Küng in 1961. He spent two years as postdoc at the University of Vienna. After two years in private business, he became a senior assistant in 1966 in the Institute for Economic Research at the ETH. His habilitation in 1973 led to a post as lecturer (Privatdozent). In 1973/74 he conducted research at the University of Wisconsin and in 1977-1980 (summer semester) served as visiting professor at the University of California at Berkeley. From 1982-1994 Richard Senti was head of the Institute for Economic Research. In his research and teaching he emphasizes foreign trade, international economic organizations (GATT/WTO, EU) and questions pertaining to agricultural markets. |
