Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Philipp Rehner studied process engineering with specializations in mechanical and thermal process engineering at the University of Stuttgart in Germany. He received his master’s degree in proces engineering in 2016 with his master’s thesis on the application of dynamic density functional theory to droplet colaescence.

In 2016, Philipp started working as a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Thermodynamics and Thermal Process Engineering at the University of Stuttgart under the supervision Professor Joachim Gross. He worked on the thermodynamic description of interfaces using classical density functional theory with a focus on the interfacial properties of nanodroplets and the modelling of the enrichment of surface active agents in interfaces.  In 2021, Philipp defended his dissertation "Interfacial properties using classical density functional theory: curved interfaces and surfactants".

Since 2021, Philipp has been a postdoc in the Energy and Process Systems Engineering Group at ETH Zurich, managed by Professor André Bardow.
