Sean Kerwin obtained a Bachelor in Environmental Engineering from Carleton University in Canada in 2010 and a Master in Environmental Engineering from the Technische Universität München in Munich, Germany in March 2013. His master’s thesis focused on cost-effective strategies of infrastructure improvement in slums, specifically related to water, drainage and sanitation infrastructure in Haiti. Sean subsequently spent six weeks visiting the research area and working with the NGO Un Techo para mi País and local residents.
During his studies, Sean worked as an intern at Stantec Inc. in environmental infrastructure and for Environment Canada in the Electricity and Combustion Division.
Since May 2015, he has been working as a scientific assistant in the Infrastructure Management Group (IMG) at the Institute of Construction and Infrastructure Management (IBI) of the ETH Zurich.
